Giles has over 20 years experience in corporate affairs, investor relations and journalism in Australia and the UK. Prior to joining FIRST Advisers in 2017, Giles provided advice to a broad range of ASX listed and non-listed organisations in the areas of Investor and Media Relations, Reputation Management, Media Training and Performance Coaching. His clients have included Quadrant Energy, HT&E, Bingo Industries, FlexiGroup Limited, OFX Group, Click Energy and Finsia.
Giles commenced his corporate communications career with leading global business advisory firm Brunswick Group, where he helped found MerchantCantos, an international creative communications agency, specializing in investor communications, employee engagement and sustainability. His clients included global blue chips GSK, Barclays Bank and Prudential PLC alongside UK listed Hikma Pharmaceuticals, small cap companies such as Premier Foods and international legal firm Herbert Smith Freehills.
Giles has a track record of establishing and maintaining lasting client relationships by developing a deep understanding of the communication needs of his clients, the personalities of the senior management, and the opportunities a business faces. He strongly believes a clear understanding of an organizations purpose is central to building effective communication strategies.
Giles’ passion for corporate storytelling was born out of his early career as a general news and sports journalist in Ireland and the UK before specialising in business news as the Reuters City Desk Editor at ITN News Direct radio in London. He transitioned to Television as a presenter/reporter for The Money Channel, a UK based specialist retail investor television channel.
He holds a diploma in media studies from the City and Guilds of London and has completed Financial Markets related training in the UK.

Giles is passionate Rugby man. He has been player, captain and coach for amateur clubs in Ireland, England and, most recently, Petersham in Sydney. He is currently a coach at the Petersham Juniors club and can still be found donning his boots for the Petersham vets teams from time to time.
Giles has shared the silver screen with Mel Gibson, while an extra in the movie Braveheart.
